The system comprises an input unit (201), an ethics switching unit (301) and an output unit (401). Input unit (201) obtains parameters of interest (e.g. cyclic eccentricity weight, eccentricity weight) necessary for exceptional handling of ethics in a given machine context. Ethics switching unit (301) comprises ethics category switching unit (302) and ethics mode switching unit (306). Ethics category switching unit (302) and ethics mode switching unit 306 evaluate switched (new) ethics category or switched ethics mode of a machine scenario (based on eccentricity weights) for exception handling of ethics, respectively. Output unit (401) enables the switched ethics category or ethics mode in a machine implementing ethics. The system (100) promises realistic implementation of ethics in machines by incorporating exceptional handling of EOP.
