The Product has a mass market of 50 million small class farmers in India involved in farming of variety of crops. As J&K is itself a horticulture state the developed machine has a greater relevance for its farming system. Our primary target segment are more than 2800 marginal apple growers in J&K which accounts to about 300 hectares of land under HDP. The conversion rate of apple orchards from low density to High density plantation (HDP) for various crops like apple, cherry, pear in J&K is 2% of total land under horticultural cultivation in Kashmir (of 3.45 lakh hectares). As per NAFED, the cumulative High density plantation prospectus for alone Kashmir region is 5000 hectares by 2023. The machine has the highest prospectus for the geo-economic status in J&K as the UT is least in its mechanization index (only 9%) as compared to pan India. The basic reason being the absence of any indigenous farm machinery and high agro-tech company in the UT. This reflects in the average Jammu & Kashmir farmer being not able to afford high end farming technologies from other non local companies for their high prices. Secondarily the 2nd generation of J&K is distancing itself from farming profession due to its high cost and drudgery involved. This is undoubtedly a matter of concern for sustainable agricultural and food chain in J&K. Newer and updated technologies once revealed in J&K agricultural systems will attract more youth for continuing their traditional agriculture profession.
