The most common kind of system used by people with visual impairments, such as those who are blind, deaf-blind, or have low vision, mostly make use of Braille which is a universally accepted tactile writing system. It provides these people with a way to read and understand the text. But many of these people lack sufficient resources that can help them to access visual information, hence, it is one of the reasons for illiteracy in the world for these people. As the amount of work done in the realm of research and development has recently increased. Thereby, using modern technology, numerous components have been put together to build a “Smart Braille Device with Speech and Alphabet recognition system”. To achieve the task this device makes use of a camera module that will scan the text and using the mechanical actuator the blind person can sense that text in the form of the tactile writing system and can also hear the audio of the exact text if needed. Furthermore, this mechanical actuator can also be activated via a speech from the visually impaired person and hence they can sense that using the same tactile system. This device can be useful for visually impaired people by helping them to read and understand visual information. This is a portable and cost-efficient device to tackle the various problems that affect blind/visually impaired people.
