Ruhdaar 2.0 is an improvised version of Ruhdaar 1.0. After a rigorous testing of RUHDAAR 1.0 and discussion with various doctors, following modifications were implemented in RUHDAAR 2.0: 1. The basic compression mechanism was made vertical to reduce the load on the motor, as the weight of the motor assembly was used to aid compression. This improved compression and hence higher tidal volume output was obtained. 2. The system was incorporated with a flow sensor that measures the amount of air delivered to the patient in each breath cycle, hence achieving real time flow monitoring. The flow sensor was designed in-house at DIC. 3. The plumbing of the set-up was improved to minimize the dead space and an adjustable PEEP value was added for PEEP regulation.
