Abstract Electricity is not freely available in nature, so it must be produced, its produced by transforming one form of energy into other forms. The hydroelectric generators that are being used nowadays require dams to create a reservoir for water which disturbs the natural flow of water and also includes breaking down of mountains for the constructions of dams. Destruction of these mountains affect the tectonic plates which causes problems in earth’s ecosystem. The deterioration of the environment through the depletion of such resources causes habitat destruction, the extinction of wild life etc. which creates an imbalance or disturbance in the environment which is undesirable. As electricity has become the basic Necessity, the world has developed many techniques over the years to generate electric power easily and efficiently. One of the methods for generating electricity is pumped storage hydropower in which 2 water reservoirs are used at different elevations that can generate power as water moves down from one to the other, passing through a turbine. However, the disadvantages of pumped hydro power generation include high initial capital cost and low power generation. So, considering these issues we created a solution in the form of this project in which we do not require to create dams and disturb the natural flow of water. Here we are using floating water turbines to produce electricity from the turbulent flow as well as from stream line flow of water in far flung areas where water resources are abundant. As the far-flung areas lack the facilities of electricity, with the help of this we can overcome this problem, we can generate constant electrical output from the turbulent and laminar flow of water. Novelty: The model relates to a device for the production of energy from water currents. More precisely, it belongs to a generating device which is free from the limits of natural conditions and can directly use the kinetic energy of flowing waters to generate electricity. Keeping human necessity in mind comes forth the idea of floating water turbine, as the name portrays floating water turbine is light weight and portable which uses energy of flowing streams to effectively use potential energy of water. The design is capable of generating enough power to charge electrical devices and is equipped with a portable battery making charging conventional. This whole system is based upon the two floaters and between these we have a water turbine which is capable of converting the kinetic energy of water into the mechanical energy more effectively and the turbine is connected to the generator which then helps in the generation of electricity. The design can operate in rivers and streams and id light weighted, allowing the system to be easily transportable
