The inception of the idea behind "Noonley" - Traditional Kashmiri Instant Noon Chai, stems from a significant development in our university's approach to innovation and startups. With the adaptation of the National Education Policy 2020, our esteemed Vice-Chancellor introduced a fourth mandate focusing on Innovation and Startups at SKUAST-K. Being a home scientist, I had a fervent desire to innovate within my field and contribute something meaningful. This platform provided the ideal opportunity to create a product that could address the needs and preferences of every Kashmiri Noon Chai enthusiast. "Noonley" was conceived as a solution to several challenges faced by lovers of this cherished beverage. It's a carefully crafted blend, capturing the essence of authentic Noon Chai, conveniently packaged in tea bags. The turning point came in March 2023 during the Exhibition cum Seed Sale Mela at SKUAST, where I unveiled the concept of Instant Noon Chai in the form of tea bags. The overwhelming appreciation from dignitaries and our Vice-Chancellor himself was truly encouraging. I must acknowledge the unwavering support of our Vice-Chancellor and the program coordinator at KVK Srinagar, who believed in my vision. The incubation and support provided by SKIIE Centre SKUAST-K were instrumental in bringing "Noonley" to the market. This journey of innovation has been a collaborative effort, and I am grateful for the opportunities and support that made it possible.
